Dance is a sacred thing that has joined people and civilisations since mythical ages. Dance unites our mind and body with our true self, the present moment and our surroundings, connects us with our emotions, dreams and aspirations, to the earth and the heavens. Dancing freely, we learn to appreciate who we are, what we feel, what we have and where we are. Cynthia, an Explorer and Journey Provider from Bucharest, is a dancer, We are thrilled to share Cynthia's story with you! Explorer and Journey Provider from Bucharest, dancer, yoga teacher, healthy eating coach and so much more!

Tell us more about what you do.

I brought the concept of ecstatic dance to Bucharest. It is a transformational journey we are embarking on monthly, joining a worldwide community of dance lovers. To many of us this is a precious experience for our self-loving, consciousness expanding practice, as well as for connecting with lovely people with whom we share deep vulnerable, insightful, blissful moments. We started our journey in 2015 and organized over 60 regular events, dancing now with more than 100 people monthly.

Swirling across the dance floor with bare feet, messy hair, sweaty clothes and sparkles in our eyes, we meet our true nature and start feeling, forgiving, healing, loving, playing and creating. We experience being real, fully present in our bodies, accepting its conditions and the continuous change of everything. We move into loving ourselves as we are and being more open to appreciate all things and beings. As we flow and shake and swing with the artfully crafted soundscape of beats and rhythms, ecstasy floods our body-mind-heart structure and we merge into peaceful, loving presence. Ecstatic dance calls us to bring this precious practice into our lives.   To offer a glimpse into what happens at Ecstatic Dance, we posted a few videos on our Youtube channel and Facebook page.

I am also a nutritional coach. For the past eight years, I've been experimenting and researching into raw vegan foods, mucusless diet, frutarianism and fasting. I love discovering how nature supports our healing processes through the world of plants. Experience has taught me how to recognize the best foods for my body and prepare deeply satisfying, truly delicious, healing meals. I also learnt that sharing this knowledge brings a lot of value to my life and the life of others.

It’s my passion to create beneficial food, talk about it and guide others through their transition towards a natural diet. Right now, I’m offering my support through the original Yummasala products, available online and at the Vegan Garden Market - tasty combinations of seeds, dried veggies and spices that encourage everyone to eat more greens and plant based foods.

I wish to coach people that want to improve their health and vitality through food, by designing transition plans and helping organize logistics for a healthy diet.

Yoga became part of my path about the same time I started paying more attention to food. I am practicing and teaching Iyengar yoga at Verna Health Center in Bucharest and I also hold a teacher training certificate in Ashtanga yoga from my trip to India.

I love taking photos of plants and nature and writing about things I find meaningful in my life. I have an old collection of photos from my travels on my Flickr page and a newer one on Instagram, where I also share some of my writings.

What is your motivation for doing what you do?

Doing my work keeps me in flow. In tune with the environment, with myself and others. I aim at developing a simple, creative, heart driven practice of life, where every action is a prayer.

For me, nutrition is at the core of connecting with my body and movement is what tunes it to higher consciousness. Food builds the physical body, so it’s crucial to be aware what we bring in. But that would be incomplete without integrating a conscious movement practice such as yoga and free dance, to further explore more subtle dimensions of living.

The dream of sharing this healthy, creative, passionate lifestyle within a community, in a natural surrounding is what motivates me.

Where can people find you?

I have created these two platforms which showcase my activities: on Yummasala one can keep up with my culinary creations and advice, and on Ecstatic Dance one can see the upcoming events, guests and know more about our philosophy. Of course, anyone can get in touch through social media.

Do you travel often?

I have been on the road for a few years, on and off. I had the opportunity to spend six months in India and another six travelling in California, Thailand and Japan. Coming back from my last trip, I had the revelation of starting Ecstatic Dance in Bucharest. I felt like rooting back in my home town and starting my projects here, to be close to my loved ones and help out in the family business – producing baby mattresses. After 3 years and a half, I can say I really miss travelling, but I am very grateful for all the exploring opportunities that Ecstatic Dance has brought to me here. I’m happy to feel connected with a beautiful community of local and international dancers and facilitators.

What kinds of events you enjoy?

I had amazing experiences at WahaDakini and Glia Gathering in the previous years so they’re on my summer plans. I’d also like to go on another Vipassana retreat soon, since it’s been close to two years since my last one and I feel I need it. Rainbow gatherings and Shambala festival in Thailand are other happening I hold dear in my heart. I’m dreaming of touring world’s transformational events, from Ecstatic Dance festivals, to Burning Man, to small, quiet gatherings in remote nature.

How can people book a journey with you?

I’m inviting everyone to join our next Ecstatic Dance in by registering on our website We’re connected with the community through our newsletter, Facebook page and Instagram account. My phone number is also available for any inquiries about the events.

For my healing diet yummy products and transition coaching, Yummasala page is where I can easily be contacted, as well as on WhatsApp and video call.

I am opened to trading and exchanging, supporting the non-formal economy.

Anyone needing an affordable, natural material, custom made mattress for children or adults can contact us on, my family’s business online store.

What do you think of the Truself  Explorers community?

I think it's going to be a community of people who work together to expand world consciousness into a higher vibration. By the power of example. Starting with each one of them and their stories, carrying further the message.

How will the Truself Explorers community enrich your current experience?

By connecting me with others who have embarked in this journey - so many different people into alternative practices, working together to offer knowledge and experiences. I believe that through Truself I can reach more people, share what I have to offer and so, I have more opportunities to do what I love.

Do you have friends who would be interested in joining the community?

Oh yes! I was thinking while talking to you... so many people that I know came to my mind, all with different skill sets.

What is your message for the fellow Explorers?

We wish to create a nourishing, healing and creative environment for those searching for authentic expression, heart openness and co-creation.
